A NONE-forcing read of the ES Range Product Manual 3.5 (which itself states it covers ES-246, ES-257, ES-313, ES-320, ES-446, ES-457, ES-279, ES-346, ES-701, ES-842, ES-357, ES-020, ES-031, ES-042, ES-420, ES-413) returned no occurrence of 'Modbus' anywhere in the document, and the same read of the model's own datasheet PDF returned no occurrence of 'Modbus'. The manual describes only raw TCP sockets, Telnet/RFC2217 and Windows virtual COM ports (Boost.LAN driver), plus peer-to-peer serial tunnelling between two units. Factory default operating mode is printed as 'Telnet + COM port control Mode (Server)'. The device does not parse or convert Modbus frames, so a standard Modbus TCP client cannot address a serial Modbus RTU slave through it. |
